Good news and some bad news

So, if you want to try this diet, there is some good news, and some bad news.  The good news is that you no longer need to read or understand French in order to get the specifics on the diet.  The bad news is this:  even though the Dukan Diet book has been translated into English for the UK market, the English is… well… lets say its very British.

Several of us have had struggled through to figure out what mincemeat and porridge translates to in US English (and products) and we’ve been successful in losing anywhere between 1 and 4 stones on the diet!

The dukan diet french doctor is easy to follow.

It’s effects are well known in the French healthcare system. The diet plan that the French medicine nutritionist created has 2 parts. The first part is called the attack phase. You stay in the attack phase for anywhere from 1 to 10 days, depending on how much weight you want to lose. During the attack phase, you eat only protein and non-fat dairy. The proteins can include lean beef and pork, with all the fat trimmed off, chicken, turkey, and eggs. You can expect to lose up to 7 lbs in 5 days.

After you have done the attack phase

After you have done the attack phase of the dukan diet french doctor plan, then you go into the cruise stage. In the cruise stage, you intersperse all protein days with days that you add in unlimited vegetables. You get the best weight lose results when you alternate protein days with veggie days every other day. But, you can arrange then any way that you wish. You can have 4 days of pure protein, 4 days of veggie, or just 2 days of pure protein, adding in the vegetables the other 5 days.

You should also

  • drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day
  • exercise for at least 20 minutes a day
  • add oat bran to your diet
